Jemez potter Juanita Fragua created this unusually shaped and beautifully painted piece by hand, giving it a contemporary, multi-teared look. The piece showcases a red, bowl-shaped lower portion, which is topped with a shorter, rounded section of buff clay. This section extends upward and narrows into the piece’s rim and opening, and is painted in both bacl and red with step, crescent moon, triangle, and feather patterns. The red, lower portion of the piece is painted in black with a reoccurring triangle design surrounding the inflection. 7 1/4″ tall x 6″ wide.
