This beautiful Zuni bolo tie, estimated to have been created in the late 1970s/early 1980s, takes the traditional bear fetish shape and is inlaid with multiple, traditional stones. The background of the bear features predominantly jet, inlaid with tiny dots of sterling silver. Additional inlaid stones of turquoise, red spiny oyster shell, lapis, coral, and golden mother of pearl are inlaid in geometric patterns along the body, the coral, turquoise, and golden mother of pearl creating a sunface at the upper center. Due to its age, both simple sterling bezel and sterling tips have oxidized considerably. 1 7/8″ long x 1 1/4″ wide.
