Turquoise, coral, jet, lapis, and golden mother of pearl combine with sterling silver to create a traditional thunderbird in this impressive bolo tie by Zuni silversmith Delwin Gasper. The thunderbird, whose head is set on a profile, features a turquoise beak, jet eye and golden mother of pearl face, also has a jet and coral feather atop its head. Wings and tail feathers are inlaid with turquoise, jet, lapis, coral and golden mother of pearl, while thin sterling rope patterns border the top of the wings and applique sterling dots finish the head, triangular jet body, and indentations of the tail feathers. Bolo is finished with inlay tips that mimic the thunderbird’s tail feathers and features each of the aforementioned stones. 2 1/2″ long x 2″ wide. Bolo measures 23 1/2″ from top to bottom.
