A traditional thunderbird, its head set on a profile and wings outstretched, is inlaid with turquoise, coral, jet, lapis and golden mother of pearl in this impressive bolo tie by Zuni silversmith Delwin Gasper. The bird’s head is predominantly inlaid with golden mother of pearl and includes a jet tringle, while its beak is turquoise and the feather atop its head features coral and jet. The bird’s body features lapis golden mother of pearl and jet, while the wings are inlaid with turquoise, jet, coral and lapis. The piece is finished with tail feathers inlaid with turquoise, lapis, golden mother of pearl and jet, while sterling dots and rope patterns finish the piece along the wings, head and tail feathers. Sterling bolo tips are stamped with scallop patterns at the top. 2 1/8″ long x 1 3/4″ wide. Bolo measures 24″ from top to bottom.
