Gorgeous, deep red pieces of natural Mediterranean branch coral stand out beautifully against sterling silver in this traditional Navajo squash blossom necklace and earring set. The necklace showcases eighteen coral pieces, each set in simple sterling silver bezels: ten along the necklace portion and eight making up the naja. The naja of the piece features one coral piece at its center, surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern, followed by a crescent shape of twisted sterling silver, which is bordered on its inside and outside by unadorned sterling bands. Seven coral stones make up the crescent shape of the naja, each surrounded at the base by sterling silver rope patterns and separated on top and bottom by appliqued sterling dots. They are finished with sterling bands stamped with scallop and line designs. Each blossom along both sides of the double strand, sterling silver bead necklace portion is set with a single coral piece, with accompanying silverwork mimicking the silverwork surrounding the stones along the naja. Each blossom is finished with a three pronged sterling silver blossom, and the necklace merges into a single strand of sterling silver beads about 3/4 of the way toward each end. Matching earrings feature one coral piece and the same silverwork as is seen along the necklace. Naja measures 2 3/8″ long x 2 3/8″ wide. Necklace cannot be laid flat to measure from end to end due to positioning of naja. Necklace measures 14″ from top to bottom including naja length. It is finished with a hook and eye closure. Earrings measure 1 3/8″ long including French hook x 1/2″ wide.
