Impressively created in exceptional detail in predominantly sterling silver, this incredible Thunderbird pendant showcases Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration’s wonderful artistry. The piece, showcasing a sterling silver body, head, and wings, also features a single turquoise stone finishing off the bottom, set in a simple, handmade sterling silver bezel and containing portions of brown matrix running throughout. The body of the piece is cut and textured to show muscles along the stomach and chest, while the wings are doubled up and delicately stamped with fine lines, forming beautiful feathers. The neck of the piece is also surrounded by sterling feathers, while the bird’s sterling beak extends outward from the ead, its rectangular eyes cut out to create a shadowbox effect. The bird is finished with a step pattern tableta on either side of the head, and delicate, impressively stamped sterling feathers protruding from the top of the head. Hook bail is located at the top of the back of the piece. 2 5/8″ long x 1 1/2″ wide.
