Handmade brushed sterling silver beads provide the basis for both naja and blossoms in this traditional Navajo squash blossom necklace. The “blossoms,” in this particular case, are not blossoms at all, but rather five Liberty Dimes on each side, totaling 10 dimes throughout. The naja of the piece comprises brushed sterling, with a single blue turquoise stone set within at its center. The stone is set in a sawtooth sterling silver bezel and contains potions of brown matrix running throughout, and the naja is finished with stamped lines at each end and a stamped scallop pattern up top. The necklace itself merges from two strands of beads to one halfway toward each end, and it is finished with a hook and eye closure. Naja measures 2″ long x 1 7/8″ wide. Necklace measures 22 3/4″ long not including naja length. Total necklace length with naja is 24 3/4″.
