A departure from his more recognizable maiden pieces, this fun lizard pin/pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration comprises sterling silver and turquoise in a shadowbox style. The majority of the piece is made up of sterling silver, cut out with triangular designs along one side of the body, which creates the shadowbox effect. On the opposite side of these cut outs rests a single, long oval turquoise piece, set down within the body in an oval cut out, and set in a simple sterling silver bezel. The stone is blue in color and contains portions of black matrix running throughout, while the lizard is finished with thin, sterling silver limbs and a long, wiry sterling silver tail. Hook bail rests at the top of the back of the piece, while pin rests horizontally along the back of the center of the body. 2 1/2″ long x 1 3/4″ wide.
