Powder blue, beautiful Dry Creek turquoise containing portions of brown matrix running throughout, along with sterling silver, combine in this lovely, traditional maiden pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. The majority of the piece comprises sterling silver, while a tear drop shaped Dry Creek turquoise piece is set in a simple sterling silver bezel to form the center of the body. The turquoise stone is surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern, followed by a sterling band stamped with fine lines, cut out along the edges, and featuring two rows of appliqued sterling silver dots on each side. A sterling silver maiden’s head, complete with deeply grooved rectangular eyes and a round, appliqued mouth, as well as a forehead stamped with vertical lines, representing hair, protrudes from the top of the body of the piece. The head is bordered by a large sterling silver tableta on all sides, stamped with step designs. Hook bail is located at the top of the back of the piece. 2 1/4″ long x 1 5/16″ wide.
