Description

Turquoise and sterling silver combine in this beautiful, traditional maiden ring by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration. The majority of the piece comprises sterling silver, while a single turquoise stone containing small portions of brown and white matrix set in a simple sterling silver bezel is featured along the top of the body. The remainder of the body features sterling silver created in the shadowbox style, with sterling triangle and wave patterns cut out below the turquoise stone.  Entirety of the body is surrounded at the base by a sterling silver rope pattern, followed by a sterling band stamped with scallop designs, cut out in small indentations periodically, and appliqued with two rows of sterling silver dots.  A sterling silver maiden’s head, complete with deeply grooved rectangular eyes and a round, appliqued mouth, protrudes from the top of the body of the piece.  The head is bordered on each side by a sterling silver tableta stamped with step patterns and cut out with the same patterns along the edges, while the top of the head features a delicate sterling silver feather. The forehead of the piece is stamped with vertical and horizontal lines. 2″ long x 1 1/4″ wide. Fits ring size 9.
