Created in the shadowbox style, this impressive turtle pendant by Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration comprises both sterling silver and turquoise. The turtle is predominantly made up of sterling silver, its shell stamped with fine lines and cut out with triangles along the edges to give it the shadowbox effect. The turtle’s head it stamped with two dots, representing eyes, and each of its sterling panel limbs are also stamped with lines. A single, square turquoise piece is set in a simple sterling silver bezel at the center of the shell, green in color and containing portions of brown matrix. 3″ long including bail x 1 3/4″ wide. Bail is large enough to accommodate small beads or multiple strands.
