Taking the shape of a large seed pot, this stunning piece by Mata Ortiz potter Oscar Ramirez features exquisite etch and paint work. The top, center of the piece, surrounding its opening, showcases several star patterns: one smaller, in green, and another larger, in red, made to stand out even more by etched and painted red and buff checkerboard patterns. The surface of the piece, both above and below the inflection, showcases several large and small butterflies, which stand out beautifully against the buff backdrop of the piece due to the accent colors of green, red, blue, and black. 3 1/2″ tall x 6 3/4″ wide.
