Jemez potter Kathleen Wall, known for her incredible, expressive, handmade and hand painted koshare pieces, created this adorable figurine in traditional colors, on a smaller scale than many of her pieces. This adorable koshare is standing, his arms outstretched, a clay basket hanging from leather in one hand. He turns slightly to the side, one foot pivoted on the ball, atop a red, oval stand painted in black with traditional geometric designs. The koshare’s face features a wide smile, his eyes wide with a distinct twinkle. The koshare is finished with leather accents atop the head and around the neck and waist, as well as straw coming from the top of the head. He is hand painted in black and red. 16″ tall x 10″ wide.
