Known for his intricate, three dimensional pieces in sterling silver, Navajo silversmith Bennie Ration showcases his abilities again in this incredible bolo tie. The piece features a large, shadowbox style sterling silver turtle, set at the center with a large turquoise stone in a simple sterling silver bezel. The carefully cut out sterling silver pieces along the turtle’s shell create a gorgeous, concentric feather design, the cutouts creating the shadowbox effect. Thin sterling panels protruding from top and bottom of the turtle’s shell create limbs, while another narrower panel creates a tail. The head is made of thicker sterling and is stamped with small circles, representing eyes. Bolo tips are also sterling silver and stamped at the top with scallop designs. 2 3/8″ long x 1 3/4″ wide. Bolo measures 22 1/2″ from top to bottom.
